1. Conservation, Food and Health Foundation Grant Program
The Conservation, Food and Health Foundation seeks to protect the environment, improve food production, and promote public health in Africa, Asia, the Caribbean, Latin America, and the Middle East. The Foundation supports projects and applied research that generate local or regional solutions to problems affecting the quality of the environment and human life, advance local leadership and promote professional development in the conservation, agricultural, and health sciences; develop the capacity of local organizations and coalitions, and address challenges in the field.
Funding Organization: Conservation, Food and Health Foundation
Scope:
• Conservation: Promote environmental conservation through field research, projects, and advocacy
• Food and agriculture: Build capacity for self-sufficiency and resilience to climate change, enhance food security, strengthen local food systems, and support healthy nutrition
• Public health: Promote community-level disease prevention and public health
Eligibility: Non-governmental organizations, nonprofit organizations; civil society organizations; community-based organizations; and colleges, universities, and other academic institutions.
Maximum Award: There is no minimum or maximum grant size. It is anticipated that most grants will fall in the $25,000-$50,000 per year range.
Application Process: The foundation has an online, two-phase application system comprised of a short concept application, followed by a limited number of invited full proposals.
Application Deadline: Concept applications are accepted two times per year. Next deadline is 15 June 2026.

2. Zayed Sustainability Prize
The Zayed Sustainability Prize recognises and rewards pioneers who create solutions that benefit communities around the world.
Funding Organization: Abu Dhabi Government
Prize Categories:
• Health: The Health category is open to organizations providing innovative sustainable solutions that improve access to essential healthcare, prevent epidemics, and address global health challenges
• Food: The Food category is open to organizations with innovative sustainable solutions that boost agricultural productivity, ensure the sustainability of food systems and reduce hunger and malnutrition.
• Energy: The Energy category is open to organizations offering innovative sustainable solutions that support the development of clean infrastructure, enhance energy efficiency, and ensure access to affordable and reliable power.
• Water: The Water category is open to organizations with innovative sustainable solutions that ensure access to c.
• Climate Action: The Climate Action category is open to organizations with innovative sustainable solutions that build climate resilience, promote sustainable land use, conserve ecosystems and utilize carbon capture technologies.
Eligibility:
• Organisations must be a small or medium sized enterprise (SME) or a non-profit organisation (NPO).
• Organisations must also demonstrate a clear vision and long-term plan to further deploy their solution and scale up their impact, as well as inspiring others to follow suit by advancing sustainable and human development.
Maximum Award: The Prize will award US$ 1 million to winners in each category.

3. Early Independence: NERC Independent Research Fellowship 2026
The Early Independence: NERC Independent Research Fellowship 2026 supports early career researchers to develop their careers through independent environmental research hosted at an eligible UK research organisation. The programme aims to support talented researchers with strong leadership potential to establish themselves as future research leaders by conducting investigator-led projects within NERC’s environmental science remit.
Funding Organization: Natural Environment Research Council (NERC), UK
Scope: Environmental science
Eligibility: Fellowships are open to applicants of any nationality, with the condition that the fellowships must be based at a UK research organisation eligible for NERC funding.
Maximum Award: There is no maximum or minimum funding limit. NERC will fund 80% of the full economic cost (FEC) of the project. Fellowships last 5 years and may be held full time or part time.

4. Forest Conservation Fund Project Grant
The Forest Conservation Fund Project Grant supports rainforest conservation projects. The project must be situated in a region where forest conservation is critical.
Funding Organization: Forest Conservation Fund
Scope: The FCF prioritizes projects that:
• Protect high-impact or high-risk forest areas.
• Empower local communities and indigenous peoples.
• Demonstrate strong conservation management and reporting capacity
Eligibility:
• The Grantee can be a community-based organisation, private company, private individual, NGO, research institution, university, or religious entity.
• The area under protection must have land tenure status that allows for protection for at least 20 yearsfrom the date of applicationto the FCF. This can be a renewable lease
• The Grantee must have legal use or management rights over the conservation area.
• The area should be recognized by the government as an area designated for conservation or social forestry.
Application Process: Applicants should first review the eligibility criteria, then submit an enquiry form. If eligible, the FCF will assist in preparing the application, which is reviewed quarterly by the Grants Committee.
Application Deadline: Applications are reviewed quarterly. The next deadline is the third week of June.
