1. Simons Foundation Targeted Grants in Mathematics and Physical Sciences
 
The Simons Foundation Mathematics and Physical Sciences (MPS) program supports high-risk theoretical mathematics, physics and computer science projects of exceptional promise and scientific importance on a case-by-case basis.
 
Funding Organization: Simons Foundation
 
Scope: Mathematics and physical sciences
 
Eligibility: Applications may be submitted by established U.S. and foreign public and private educational institutions and stand-alone research centers. PIs and co-Investigators must have a Ph.D. and a tenure-track or tenured position at said institutions or centers at the time of application. There are no citizenship or department requirements for PIs.
 
Awards: The program provides funding for up to five years. The funding level and duration is flexible and should be appropriate based on the type of support requested in the proposal. There is no recommended or assumed funding level for this program.
 
Allowable expenses include:
• Up to one month of summer salary and related benefits per year for the PI and any co-Investigator(s).
• Domestic or international travel for the PI(s), co-Investigator(s) and students, as appropriate.
• Salary support and related benefits, including tuition support, for staff/research scientists, postdoctoral fellows and research associates, graduate students or undergraduate research assistants.
• Support for visitors and collaborators, including domestic and international travel, meals and lodging expenses.
• Conferences and working meetings appropriate to the needs of the project.
• Research equipment, experiments, computations, supplies and other expenses directly related to the research, including computers, computer support, professional literature, publication expenses and professional membership dues.
 
Application Process: Applicants must submit a Letter of Intent (LOI) via the Simons Award Manager (SAM), https://sam.simonsfoundation.org/. Approved LOIs will be invited to submit a full proposal through SAM.
 
Application Deadline: The deadline is rolling, and an LOI can be submitted at any time.

2. Reece Foundation Grant
 
The Reece Foundation Grant Program to support locally led initiatives that help communities in Australia and overseas with access to clean water, sanitation or food security through irrigation.
 
Funding Organization: Reece Foundation
 
Scope: Access to clean water, sanitation or food security through irrigation
 
Eligibility: Applications must be submitted by a not-for-profit organization or community group, individual or group of individuals sponsored by a not-for-profit entity.
 
Awards: The funding request is between AUD$5,000 and AUD$30,000.

Application Deadline: Application is open all year round. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis and short-listed applicants will be notified.

3. Rufford Small Grant
 
The Rufford Small Grant supports individuals working on nature conservation projects in developing countries.
 
Funding Organization: Rufford Foundation
 
Research Scope: Nature conservation
 
Eligibility:
• Applicants should be in the early stages of their conservation careers. Priority is given to MSc or PhD students or recent graduates. Only fieldwork costs will be considered.
• Projects must have a nature conservation focus.
• Applicants must be working in an eligible country. (Thailand is eligible.)
• Projects can focus on particular species, threatened habitats or issues like human-wildlife conflict or community education.
 
Awards: The award provides up to 7,000 GBP for first-time applicants, increasing to up to 18,000 GBP for fourth-time applicants. Funding is provided for 12 months.

Application Deadline: Applications are accepted on a rolling basis throughout the year.

4. Sustainable Tourism Development Grants
 
The Swiss Foundation for Solidarity in Tourism (SST) supports projects and organisations worldwide that
• improve the economic, cultural or social conditions of people in tourism destination countries;
• contribute to sustainable tourism development in destination countries; and
• promote intercultural understanding between people in tourism source and destination countries.
 
Funding Organization: Swiss Foundation for Solidarity in Tourism (SST)
 
Scope: Sustainable tourism
 
Eligibility: Open to projects and organisations worldwide.
 
Awards: Up to CHF 25,000.
