1. Amazon Research Awards Call for Proposals
Amazon Research Awards program offers unrestricted funds and Amazon Web Services Promotional Credits to support research at academic institutions and non-profit organizations in areas that align with Amazon’s mission to advance customer-obsessed science.
Awards are structured as unrestricted gifts to the principal investigator’s academic institution or organization and as such, Amazon retains no intellectual property rights to the resulting work. Recipients are encouraged to publish outcomes and commit related code to open-source repositories. Recipients are assigned an Amazon research contact who offers consultation and advice along with opportunities to participate in Amazon events and training sessions.

Eligibility: Applicants must be (1) either a full-time faculty member at an accredited academic institution or a permanent researcher at a non-governmental organization with recognized legal status in their respective country and (2) at or above the age of majority in their jurisdiction of residence at the time of application. Each Principal Investigator is permitted to submit only one proposal to the ARA Program per call for proposal period.
Maximum Award: Selected Principal Investigators (PIs) may receive the following:
• Unrestricted funds: varies from $70,000 to $100,000 USD (check each call for specific upper limit)
• AWS Promotional Credits: check each call for specific upper limit
• Some calls provide training resources, including AWS tutorials and hands-on sessions with Amazon scientists and engineers
Amazon Research Awards (ARA) are structured as one-year unrestricted gifts. The budget should include a list of expected costs specified in USD, and should not include administrative overhead costs. The final award amount will be determined by the awards panel.

2. Community-Centered Connectivity Grant Program
The program empowers communities to design, implement, and sustain their own connectivity solutions. The program addresses key barriers to meaningful internet access, including availability, affordability, adoption, and digital literacy, while strengthening local capacity and fostering partnerships with stakeholders.
Funding Organization: Internet Society Foundation
Scope:
• Expanding internet access and adoption in underserved communities
• Addressing barriers to meaningful connectivity, including technical, social, and financial challenges
• Increasing digital literacy and local capacity for sustainable management
• Developing collaborative, community-led solutions rather than externally imposed models
• Supporting scale and replication of proven connectivity initiatives
Eligibility
• Legally registered non-profit organizations and social enterprises
• Organizations with experience managing grants and implementing connectivity projects
• Applicants must demonstrate technical expertise, community engagement, and local support
• Preference is given to organizations working with refugees, displaced populations, indigenous communities, and women and girls
Maximum Award:
• Catalyst Track: Up to USD 50,000 for projects up to 12 months, focusing on new or expanding connectivity solutions
• Scaling Track: Up to USD 200,000 for projects up to 18 months, deploying proven solutions across multiple communities
