The annual 2025 Vesalius Innovation Award celebrates outstanding innovations from young entrepreneurs and start-ups. All fields are accepted – especially those with relevance to Health Sciences, Open Science, and public engagement.

Funding Organization: Karger Publishers

Research Scope: This year’s award focuses on:

• strengthen research integrity
• enable responsible use of AI
• foster sustainable knowledge transfer.

Eligibility: Early-stage startups that are reimagining how scientific knowledge is communicated, evaluated, and applied.


Awards and Benefits: The overall winner will be awarded a prize of 15,000 USD and two runners-up 5,000 USD each. The top five startups will profit from media coverage, mentoring by experienced experts or Karger employees and will be present at the live pitching event and the award ceremony.
