The Abel Visiting Scholar Program supports early-career mathematicians in developing countries to visit an international collaborator. The program is designed for post-doctoral mathematicians in the early stages of their professional careers.

Research Scope: Mathematics
Eligibility: Applicants must
- hold at the time of application a PhD in mathematics,
- be based in a developing country at the time of application
- hold a position in a university/ research institution
- be in the early stages of their professional careers, more precisely: the applicants should not yet be of full professorial rank but have a working contract in a university/ college and be under 35 years of age at the day of the application deadline.
Maximum Award: Applicants may apply for up to 5000 USD for 1 month.
Application Process: Applications must be submitted online via the IMU grant application portal https://grants.mathunion.org.
Application Deadline: Applications must be received at least four months before the desired starting date. The selection committee will review the applications and award fellowships every four months.
