The Forest Conservation Fund Project Grant supports rainforest conservation projects. The project must be situated in a region where forest conservation is critical.
Funding Organization: Forest Conservation Fund
Scope: The FCF prioritizes projects that:
- Protect high-impact or high-risk forest areas.
- Empower local communities and indigenous peoples.
- Demonstrate strong conservation management and reporting capacity
Eligibility:
- The Grantee can be a community-based organisation, private company, private individual, NGO, research institution, university, or religious entity.
- The area under protection must have land tenure status that allows for protection for at least 20 yearsfrom the date of applicationto the FCF. This can be a renewable lease
- The Granteemust have legal use or management rights over the conservation area.
- The area should be recognized by the government as an area designated for conservation or social forestry.
Application Process: Applicants should first review the eligibility criteria, then submit an enquiry form. If eligible, the FCF will assist in preparing the application, which is reviewed quarterly by the Grants Committee.
Application Deadline: Applications are reviewed quarterly in the third week of March, June, September, and December.
